Overview
Ryde-Her Cup (“the App”) is a private tournament companion for invited golfers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address and a hashed password.
- Profile & golf data: display name (from your invitation), GHIN number, handicap index, team assignment, and tournament role (player or admin).
- Tournament activity: match pairings, hole scores, pink-ball selections, skins results, and related standings data you or co-players enter.
- Device security (optional): if you enable biometric lock, Face ID / Touch ID is used only on-device via Apple’s APIs. Biometric templates never leave your device and are not sent to our servers.
- Technical data: standard server logs (e.g. timestamps, approximate IP) needed to operate and secure the API.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use advertising trackers in the App.
How we use information
- Authenticate you and enforce invite-only access.
- Display scoreboards, matchups, scorecards, skins, and winnings for the tournament.
- Allow admins to manage sessions, pairings, and match status.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the service.
Where data is stored
Account and tournament data are stored on our hosted backend (currently Neon Postgres via our API at
rydeher-cup.vercel.app). Auth tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device.
Third parties
We may look up official handicap information using your GHIN number through a handicap data provider when that integration is configured. Hosting/infrastructure providers process data only to run the service. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Retention
We keep account and tournament data for the life of the tournament and a reasonable period afterward for records, or until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes your login and profile immediately.
Your choices
- You can disable biometric lock anytime in Settings.
- You can sign out from Settings.
- You can permanently delete your account in the App: open Settings (gear on Scoreboard) → Delete Account, then confirm. This removes your login, email, profile, and GHIN number. Scores tied to your account may also be removed. The organizer’s guest-list name for the tournament may remain as a roster entry without a login.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Effective” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
